To apply foliar fertilisers you will need a handheld or backpack sprayer. Baileys recommend the use of a pressurised sprayer over a clip on hose applicator for even coverage.
For best results, calibrate your sprayer before use. Calibrating your sprayer ensures you don't put either too much product out and empty your sprayer before finishing, or have a lot left when you finish, meaning you didn't put enough product out. It also guides you to walk at a steady, consistent pace. To calibrate your sprayer, test with water first, seeing how much you apply over a set area, aiming for an application pace of roughly 40-50ml per square metre.
Apply to a dry lawn, preferably in the morning and wait at least 4 hours before watering. Always follow the application instructions on the pack and avoid application in temperatures over 30C.
Application tips:
1. Estimate the size of your lawn in square metres. Apply 5ml of Turfect in 50ml of water per square metre. e.g. 1L Turfect diluted in 10L of water covers 200 sq metres. (1000ml/5ml = 200m2)
2. Shake bottle before use. Remove the cap and squeeze the bottle to measure out required quantity of Turfect. Pour into sprayer.
3. Add required amount of water and return the lid. Pump the backpack to pressurise.
4. Walk backward and spray in long sweeping strokes. Avoid walking over the grass once product has been applied. You should be walking at a comfortable pace with the end of the spray wand roughly 30cm off the ground.
5. Apply every 2-4 weeks. For best results apply in-between granular feeds.
